Why Test Your Water?

It seems like nothing of value is free, right?
Learning what’s in your water at no charge does sound too good to be true.
Here’s why we have a free water analysis:

  • It’s far cheaper for us to test your water and give you the proper equipment the first time compared to if we had to go back to correct it.
  • The loss not only in our time and labor but in goodwill would far outweigh the costs involved with a water test in your home.
  • Culligan has been around since 1936 and we’ve been in Manchester, Portsmouth, Nashua, Concord, Salem, Derry, Merrimack, Hudson, Londonderry, Bedford communities for over 60 years. You cannot serve a community for that long unless you take care of your customers.
  • With the Do-It-Yourself mentality in most areas, if we started charging $79 for a water test, we fear that too many people would get caught going with an ineffective solution that doesn’t fully take care of their needs.
  • Non-health related Hardness, pH, iron, Total dissolved solids.

After all, what good is water treatment if it isn’t designed to handle YOUR water?

Common Contaminants In Tap Water

pfas

PFAS

Also known as “forever chemicals,” are man-made compounds that can persist in the environment for thousands of years. Used in products like nonstick cookware, water-resistant fabrics, and food packaging, these chemicals have been linked to potential health risks, including cancer and immune system issues, and are difficult to eliminate from drinking water & the human body. (not included in free water test)
Hard-Water

Hard Water

Hard Water shortens the life of appliances, leaves Hard Water deposits on fixtures and dishware. Hard Water also requires chemical detergents to counter the effects of hardness and can require up to 65% more cleaning products. A simple Hard Water test can determine how much Hardness is in your water.
Bacteria

Bacteria

Municipal water suppliers inject disinfectants (Chlorine) to eliminate bacteriological contamination. Well Water does not. Most Well Water is safe and free of bacteriological contamination but the only way to know is to have it Tested. A special test is required for this and must be done in a laboratory. This requires 2-4 days. (not included in free water test)
Chlorine

Chlorine

Most municipal water has been treated with some form of Chlorine disinfection. Chlorine in tap water tends to dry out skin and make hair brittle. It can be higher in some parts of the city than in others.

Salt-and-Dissolved-Solids

Salts & Dissolved Solids

Salt is another common contaminant. It is usually higher in surface water that comes from lakes. However it isn’t unusual to encounter higher than acceptable levels in some well water. The only way to know is to have the water tested.

Fluoride

Fluoride

Fluoride is commonly found in municipal water in New Hampshire. In excess it can cause problems. If you are concerned, a special test to determine the levels of fluoride is available.

I would like to express my gratitude for the exceptional service provided by the gentleman who worked on our house. He demonstrated an impressive level of expertise and professionalism. I am also pleased to note that this company has been taking care of my parents for over 30 years, and now I am thrilled to have them assist us as well. Thank you for making our home cleaner and safer for my family and me. Your efforts are truly appreciated!
Great service and very knowledgeable staff. They did a free in home assessment and water test. I was given a very fair estimate of what water treatment equipment I would need to remediate my heavy sediment and hard water. The assessor also had recommendations for future upgrades to my home's water. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
Had an appointment in Bedford for 1/12. Service Rep was on time and changed a filter and delivered salt for the water treatment system. Excellent service and very friendly. I will always use Culligan!
They are great but I was not there that day I was next door for a haircut at salon Elio
Will came and gave a professional and informative assessment and estimate for our radon and ph issues.Jarrodd was our installer. He gave a friendly reminder call, showed up on time, was dressed professionally, and followed current safety guidelines. In addition to the awesome new system we have, we will be forever thankful to Jarrodd for saving our chickens! He was outside the house, up a ladder, and heard the neighbors dog running into our yard and going after our chickens.Jarrodd jumped into action and grabbed the dog to save our family pets 🙂 Our 7 and 8 year old sons have raised the chickens from 2 weeks old. We can't thank him enough for going the extra mile! ❤️
Very impressed with the Manchester Culligan of New Hampshire location! Cathy, the operations manager answered my questions and promptly scheduled our service. Andy, the service tech was very thorough, efficient, and friendly. I was doubly impressed that I didn't have to ask him to wear a face mask while servicing our whole house and RO filtration systems. Thank you!
